Third Thursdays
5-9pm
A new kind of night out, Gardner After Hours is live music, art, conversation, cocktails and more in an inviting atmosphere. Linger around the courtyard bar, listen to live jazz or sample a new small plates menu in the café. Experience something different each month – from informal gallery talks to contemporary performance to cutting-edge new music concerts – and spend time in the galleries exploring what the Gardner is all about.

Each Night
Courtyard Music: Take in a live musical performance in the museum’s fabled courtyard from 5-7pm
Gallery Travels: Explore different aspects of the collection with new, thematic, self-guided tours each month
Viewfinder: Engage in conversations with museum curators and staff about Isabella Gardner’s collection and special historic or contemporary art exhibitions
Drawing in the Galleries: Sketch in the cloisters and galleries to create your own works of art from 6-9pm
Artful Flavors: Indulge in the culinary arts with signature cocktails at the court-side cash bar and dinner in The Gardner Café
After Hours PLUS
Each night, ticketed After Hours PLUS events bring live jazz and contemporary music and performance to the Tapestry Room, beginning at 7pm. (After Hours PLUS tickets cost a little bit more, but they’re worth it!)

“Neighborhood Nights” Thursdays, July 10, July 24, & August 7—5-8pmOn three summer nights each year, the Gardner Museum throws open its doors, inviting our neighbors to join us for a free celebration of the arts. Come enjoy three lively nights filled with storytelling, art activities, and music. These are a little more family focused and best of all, free!
Originally formed in January of 2002 at Berklee College of Music and mentored by Cheryl Bentyne of the Manhattan Transfer, Syncopation performs catchy swing, Latin and pop tunes along with A capella jazz and improvisation pieces. Syncopation has performed across the US in festivals and on radio broadcasts. They have also been welcomed with open arms overseas, and recently returned from their third annual tour of Japan in September 2004, giving clinics and singing for sold-out audiences across the country.

The Gardner Café
The Gardner Café is open during After Hours, serving sweet and savory small plates and drinks from 5–9pm. A cash bar, offering specialty cocktails, wine and beer, is also available alongside the courtyard in the museum starting at 5:30pm. Reservations are available for members only by calling 617 566 1088.
